What It Means to Be a Member

Becoming a member of Brothers to Brothers means joining a circle of Black men committed to growth, healing, and collective empowerment. We are a brotherhood a space for connection, accountability, and transformation.

 

Membership isn’t about hierarchy or titles; it’s about showing up for one another and for our community. Together, we share our stories, build new skills, support each other’s goals, and take action to create a stronger, more unified future for Black men in Whatcom County.

Who Is Welcome

Our membership is open to anyone that identifies as a Black man that lives, works, or has roots in Whatcom County or the surrounding region.

 

We welcome men of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, whether you’re a student, father, business owner, artist, or retiree.

If you identify with the values of brotherhood, growth, and service, there is a place for you here.

What We Do

Brothers to Brothers creates opportunities for connection, learning, and collective healing. Our programs are designed to meet men where they are, supporting the mind, body, and spirit.

Our Work Includes:

  • 🧠 The Sankofa Wellness Project – An 18-month journey for Black men focused on holistic healing, identity, and empowerment through quarterly retreats and workshops.

  • 💬 Monthly Member Meetings – A space to connect, plan, and take action together. We discuss community issues, share opportunities, and strengthen relationships.

  • 🎓 Education & Mentorship – Supporting youth and adults alike through school partnerships, mentoring, and educational events.

  • 🤝 Community Engagement & Service – Partnering with local organizations and participating in civic projects that represent and strengthen Black voices in Whatcom County.

  • 🧭 Committees & Leadership – Members can get involved in one of our committees from events and education to civic engagement and wellness helping shape the future of our organization.

How to Join

We protect our community by maintaining a welcoming but intentional membership process.

 

There are two ways to get connected:

  1. Personal Invitation – If you know a current member, they can invite you to attend a meeting or event.

  2. Inquiry Form – If you’re new to the area or don’t yet know anyone in the group, please click the button below “Membership Information”. Our team will reach out to schedule a short conversation or coffee to get to know you and share more about what we do.
